All equipment carried by a country's armed forces is subjected to the most stringent environmental testing to ensure maximum safety and protection for the soldier. One of these elements are combat helmets, which must preserve their impact resistance after undergoing a temperature-controlled immersion test in salt water, simulating sea conditions and extreme temperature and ageing conditions.
In order to verify the immersion resistance of the
combat helmets, DYCOMETAL has developed the special thermostatic bath BTE-1080e which allows a complete immersion up
to 1 metre deep in salt water at a given temperature. The immersion/elevation
system is fully automated so that the process is controlled at all times. Its
construction has been developed in stainless steel to withstand the conditions
of such a demanding test.
