The standards VW 80000, Section K-13 "THERMAL SHOCK IMMERSION" and RENAULT 34-09-020 "AIR-LIQUID THERMAL SHOCKS", are specifically developed for electrical and electronic components, which are mounted below the wading level of the vehicle. Both standards serve to ensure the functionality in case of immediate cooling by temporary immersion of the component. The test shall consist of a homogeneous heating of the part, followed by immersion in salt water at a given concentration for a given time, with complete immersion of the specimen. After this cycle, it shall be analysed if the component has suffered any damage or if water has entered inside.
The CRT2VT-166e
thermal shock chamber has not only been developed to meet all the requirements
of the above test, but has also been designed to perform more stringent tests
on the temperature of the immersion water and the salt water concentration,
according to the customer's requirements.
Likewise, the chamber has been built in different parts, adapting to the
space that the client had for it.
