At DYCOMETAL, we have been designing and manufacturing specialized battery testing chambers for over two decades, back when many manufacturers were still not considering the real safety requirements of these types of applications.

OUR SOLUTION (2016): A CETM-70/1000, a 1000-liter thermal testing chamber. This reinforced unit is designed to test masses exceeding 250 kg, with a temperature gradient of 1°C/min between +120°C and -20°C, taking into account the mass and heat dissipation within the system. The system was built taking into account EUCAR risks, incorporating high safety standards such as an overpressure evacuation system, electromagnetic lock, gas meters, etc. All of this is designed to guarantee maximum safety and reliability.

FORCED AIR CHEST FREEZER FOR BATTERY TESTING, ACR-40/480

Within the quality control of low-voltage batteries, it is necessary to carry out freezing tests down to -40潞C in order to analyse the performance of new and old batteries, so that a complete study of their operation and performance under extreme temperature conditions can be carried out throughout their useful life, guaranteeing their quality. 

The ACR-40/480 chest freezer has been designed to carry out freezing tests at -40潞C, in order to verify the behaviour of the batteries under extreme conditions. Its 480-litre interior enclosure with a floor reinforced up to 700 kg, allows a large number of batteries to be tested simultaneously. The position of the door has been positioned on the right side of the chamber and the control on the right, according to the customer’s indications. 2 wall access-ports on the right side of the equipment for the insertion of temperature recording probes. The system also has an air flow speed control, as well as a sensor to read the air flow. All this is recorded through an independent recording system with remote connection to a PC via Ethernet port.

STRESS SCREENING CHAMBER FOR AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY. MODEL: CCK-70/1371T-10

Current environmental tests have become increasingly demanding in the temperature gradients to which the part will be subjected. One of the most widely used tests today is the accelerated stress screening (ESS) test, during which the part to be tested is subjected to high cooling or heating gradients that can range from 5 K/min to 15 K/min.

LARGE VOLUME THERMAL SHOCK CHAMBER - 2500 LITRES, MODEL: CRT2H-40/2500

Thermal shock chambers are a fundamental element for the thermal fatigue testing of materials, equipment and automatisms. They are predominantly used in the following industries: aeronautics, automotive, military, electronics, telecommunications, space and, in general, in the materials research industry. The configuration of these chambers is usually vertical, but when the parts have a very large volume, it is necessary to opt for a horizontal design that allows the thermal shock to be carried out from right to left and vice versa.

The CRT2H-40/2500 thermal shock chamber was a great challenge for Dycometal, since few chambers with this volume have been manufactured, nor so demanding. The development of the chamber was carried out by our technical and design department with the customer, designing equipment in accordance with their requirements.

A vehicle’s driving mirrors can range in size from the smallest in a utility vehicle to the new larger mirrors in a van or truck. Moreover, their vertical geometry makes it difficult for them to fit into a vehicle position in a conventional climatic chamber. The vast majority of the common elements that surround us are tested in climatic environments to verify the quality, durability and behaviour over time under the climatic conditions that they have to withstand throughout their useful life. AIR TO LIQUID THERMAL SHOCK CHAMBER ACC. WITH VW 8000 AND RENAULT 34-09-020, MODEL: CRT2V-166e

The standards VW 80000, Section K-13 "THERMAL SHOCK IMMERSION" and RENAULT 34-09-020 "AIR-LIQUID THERMAL SHOCKS", are specifically developed for electrical and electronic components, which are mounted below the wading level of the vehicle. Both standards serve to ensure the functionality in case of immediate cooling by temporary immersion of the component. The test shall consist of a homogeneous heating of the part, followed by immersion in salt water at a given concentration for a given time, with complete immersion of the specimen. After this cycle, it shall be analysed if the component has suffered any damage or if water has entered inside.

The CRT2VT-166e thermal shock chamber has not only been developed to meet all the requirements of the above test, but has also been designed to perform more stringent tests on the temperature of the immersion water and the salt water concentration, according to the customer's requirements.  Likewise, the chamber has been built in different parts, adapting to the space that the client had for it.
