The growing demand for electrical equipment has increased the need for ever more demanding climatic testing to ensure system reliability. The extreme conditions that these parts will face can range from cold winter to the highest desert temperatures.

The external conditioning unit, model AFA-150/300g, was designed to ensure the operation of the electrical machine in extreme positive temperature conditions. The external box was designed to be adapted to the customer's existing test bench in such a way that it could be adapted as much as possible without altering the configuration of the test bench. The test chamber has two replaceable doors so that both the generator and the test stand can be used as a normal system to increase its usefulness.

LARGE VOLUME THERMAL SHOCK CHAMBER - 2500 LITRES, MODEL: CRT2H-40/2500

Thermal shock chambers are a fundamental element for the thermal fatigue testing of materials, equipment and automatisms. They are predominantly used in the following industries: aeronautics, automotive, military, electronics, telecommunications, space and, in general, in the materials research industry. The configuration of these chambers is usually vertical, but when the parts have a very large volume, it is necessary to opt for a horizontal design that allows the thermal shock to be carried out from right to left and vice versa.

The CRT2H-40/2500 thermal shock chamber was a great challenge for Dycometal, since few chambers with this volume have been manufactured, nor so demanding. The development of the chamber was carried out by our technical and design department with the customer, designing equipment in accordance with their requirements.

CLIMATIC TEST CHAMBER FOR THE STUDY OF PHOTOSENSITIVE SENSORS, MODEL: CCK-40/300T

There are a considerable number of sensors for measuring all kinds of physical or chemical parameters, among which there are some sensors that can be photosensitive, where light can affect their performance. These sensors, as well as those that are not affected by light, must be subjected to climatic and thermal tests, to verify their performance under extreme conditions, but with the proviso that they must be climatic tests without the presence of light. For this purpose, the climatic chamber is built with a blind door, without a window, so that light access to the test chamber is reduced to a minimum. In addition, other parameters are taken into account to avoid possible reflections inside the chamber.

The CCK-40/300T climatic chamber has been modified to reduce the possible entry of light as much as possible, so that the sensors are not affected. It also has the capacity to control the climatic variables necessary to stress the electronic boards and photosensitive sensors.

UNE-EN-60068-2-52, Cyclical corrosion test

The purpose of this test is to determine the capacity of the equipment to be stored or used under conditions of high humidity combined with high salinity conditions.

The purpose of this test is to determine the capacity of the equipment to be stored or used under conditions of salinity, followed by high humidity and high temperature

The sample will be tested in a neutral salinity atmosphere (pH 6,5 -7,2), with a fallout rate between 1 and 2 ml/80cm2/hour, the temperature could be from +15ºC to +35ºC. After this point, the sample will be tested during 7 days at high humidity (93 %RH) and at +40ºC.

UNE-EN-60068-2-11, NEUTRAL SALT SPRAY TEST (NSS)

The purpose of this test is to determine the capacity of the equipment to be stored or used under conditions of high humidity combined with high salinity conditions. This test is known like NSS test (Neutral Salt Spray test).

The sample will be tested in a neutral salinity atmosphere (pH 6,5 -7,2), with a fallout rate between 1 and 2 ml/80cm2/hour, while the temperature of the chamber  is +35ºC, the time of the test could vary.

UNE-EN-60068-2-30, DAMP HEAT TEST, Cyclic

The purpose of this test is to determine the capacity of the equipment to be stored or used under conditions of high humidity combined with cyclic variations of temperature and, in general, with condensation to form on its surface.

To do this, use option 2 of the test preferred UNE 135401-2 EX 1 standard, which is defined in the standard EN 60068-2-30 Db (damp heat cyclic test) 16. This standard also defines use test devices and procedures of preparation, recovery and measures. The test will take place with the equipment  with its maximum settings and load and operating conditions. The minimum severity of the test will be: temperature: 40 ° C number of cycles: 2.

The manufacturer may choose to certify a higher severity, by selecting other values of temperature and number of cycles among those defined by the standard.

UNE-EN-60068-2-2, Driy Heat Test – Ovens

The objective of this test is determine the capacity of the electronic equipments to be storage or used under high temperatures.

For this purpose is used the Bd test (dry heat test for samples with low variation of temperature) recommended the standard UNE 135401-2 EX, which is found in the standard EN 60068-2-1.

The test will be done with the equipments in their máximum configuration and load in a workspace with enough dimensions to do tests. The minimum several of temperature will be 60ºC. The manufacturer could opt for certify a lower temperature, between the defined standards

The minimum exposure to a lower temperature will be 16 hours, from the stabilization of the chamber.

UNE-EN-60068-2-1, COLD TEST

The objective of this test is determine the capacity of the electronic equipments to be storage or used under low temperatures.

For this purpose is used the test Ab (cold test for samples that do not dissipate heat with low temperature variation), recommended the standard UNE 135401-2 EX, which is found in the standard EN 60068-2-1. This standards define the equipments to use in the test and the conditioning procedures with the máximum configuration and load, and under conditions of not work, excepting in the last period of low temperature. The minimum severity of the temperature will be -10ºC. The manufacturer could opt for certify a lower temperature, between the defined standards
The minimum exposure to a lower temperature will be 16 hours, from the stabilization of the chamber.

PV 1200, Resistance to environmental cycle test

PV 1200 describes an environmental cycle test (elevated temperature/low temperature cycle) for testing units.

The samples will be placed in the test chamber, and will be exposed to an atmosphere of 80%RH and +80ºC (80/80). These conditions will be modified along the test to -40ºC and then will be rise to room temperature. The duration of the test will be 720 minutes.

Climatic Test Chamber: PV 2005 – Variant A

PV 2005 is used in automotive parts to do quality tests in order to evaluate their behavior during an accelerated climatic stress cycle.

Variant-A will be applied over the single parts, and it will be done in a climatic chamber. The duration for one cycle will be 12 hours, with temperature range between 80ºC and -35ºC, and with humidity range between 30 and 80% RH. It will exist a limitation in the water content of the air during the heating cycle.
The number of cycle depends of the specification of the product.

WALK-IN Salt Spray Chamber

One of the most important destructive agents of the nature is the corrosion, being one of the principals causes of economic lose.

All the markets: automotive, aeronautical, railway, paints or any type of metal treatment industry, have corrosion test simulation inside their quality standards. Sometimes, the samples to be tested are too big, so they need solutions with bigger volumes. In this case, we use the Walk-in Salt Spray Chambers.

The Salt Spray Corrosion Test consists of an accelerated corrosion attack by an artificial salt spray of a certain composition, in the exact conditions of temperature and pressure. To do this type of tests, it uses the salt spray chambers.

Standards like: ASTM B117, DIN 50 021 or DIN 50 017, establish a test parameters to simulate the most aggressive atmospheres.

The DIN 50 021-ESS standard is used to test the corrosion resistance of the coatings, exposing the samples to saline acid saline atmospheres and high temperature.

The samples are introduced into the chamber with an acid atmosphere, pH between 3’1 to 3’3, and temperature of 35ºC. The volume of the chamber will not be lower than 400 liters. The collection rate must to be between 2 ml/hour. The collector will have a surface of 80 cm2  .

DIN 50 017 - KK; Humidostatic test.

The DIN 50 017 standard is used to analyze the protective coating of the samples.

The sample will be tested in a heated and sutured atmosphere (temperature must be +40ºC) and relative humidity of 100%. This conditions will be constant in all the duration of the test.

DIN 50 017- KFW; Humidostatic test

The DIN 50 017 standard is used to analyze the protective coating of the samples.

The sample will be tested, in two cyclical parts; first cycle of 8 hours in heated, sutured air and water vapor, temperature will be +40ºC and relative humidity of 100%. The second cycle has 16 hours, in a temperature of +18 to 28ºC, while relative humidity must to be less than 100%.
