Not all environmental tests in the automotive industry are so extreme that they need to reach temperatures of -40ºC. When parts will not be subjected to such adverse temperatures, the test temperature ranges can be reduced to verify the behavior of components under ambient temperature changes. This was the case for our client, who requested a thermal test chamber with a reduced volume but with certain specific features.
The CET-0/86 chamber was designed with a
custom internal volume of 86 liters, measuring 500 x 430 x 400 mm (H x W x D),
according to the client's specifications. The temperature range is adjustable
from 0ºC to +120ºC, with a refrigeration unit using environmentally friendly
gas and a temperature gradient of 2ºC/min. In addition, the client requested
six through-wall fittings of varying diameters and a viewing window with
projected lighting. The chamber was configured for a 230V power supply to
facilitate installation in the laboratory.
