Numerous environmental tests exist to verify the resistance of construction materials to different climatic conditions. One fairly common test is the freeze-thaw test, where the sample is exposed to freezing and thawing conditions (in air or water) to guarantee the material’s durability.
Other more specific tests for steel-reinforced materials include carbonation tests, which involve accelerated corrosion testing by injecting CO2 into the samples under controlled climatic conditions.
DYCOMETAL has designed the CCK-30/300Tg climatic chamber to perform both carbonation and freeze-thaw tests in a single system, allowing it to cover various tests on different construction materials, rather than focusing solely on a single test. This system also features an environmentally friendly refrigeration unit with a GWP < 150, all controlled by a 7” color touchscreen control system, as well as associated software for monitoring and recording the different tests.
