SPECIAL RAIN TEST CHAMBER FOR DEGREES: IPX3,4,4K, 6K & 9K ACCORDING WITH ISO 20653, CLL-2700e

In the automotive sector, there are many elements that have to withstand heavy rain or high pressure water spray when cleaning vehicles, such as luminaires. In this case, the correct functioning and tightness of the luminaires must be guaranteed after extreme water spray conditions. The ISO 20653 standard establishes a series of rain tests for electrical enclosures, classified according to the type of test into degrees of protection. In addition to the IEC 60529 tests, this standard adds specific codes with the letter K, which describe special requirements for road vehicles.

The CLL-2700e chamber has been developed to comply with the ISO20653 standard, for tests with IPX,3 IPX4 (rain arc), IPX4 (high pressure rain arc), IPX6K (high speed and high pressure water jet) as well as IPX9K (high pressure and high temperature water). With a volume of 2700 litres (1400 x 1400 x 1400 mm), it allows testing on luminaires of various sizes.

RAIN TEST CHAMBERS, IN COMPLIANCE WITH PROTECTION STANDARDS

The standards for protection against external agents (dust or rain), allow the degree of protection of electronic enclosures against the introduction of external elements to be determined. Within the automotive standards, each manufacturer has its own test standards, such as VOLKSWAGEN’s TL-956 section 6.2.

The CLL-1000 chamber has been configured to meet rain tests for IPX3, IPX4 and has also been modified to meet IPX4 tests (Splash water with increased pressure).

PRODUCT BULLETIN: CCK-25/6800, Climatic Chamber for tests of ETICS acc. With ETAG.004)


A system of thermal insulation (ETICS) is a constructive solution of several materials to isolate the facade of buildings both acoustically and thermally from the outside. This insulation must be constructed in accordance with European technical evaluation specifications, which guarantee that the product can be used once its performance has been verified.

This set of materials should be constructed and tested according to a guide, ETAG 004, which establishes a series of tests to verify their reliability, among which are the tests of hygrothermal behaviour to determine the specification of the product to be analysed, which They will perform in a climatic chamber.

The climatic chamber CCK-25/6800 is prepared to perform the Hygrothermal behavior tests, where the ETICS will undergo different heating / rain and heating / cooling cycles. The chamber has the option to perform the test on one or two ETICS at the same time, with the measurements as indicated in the test guide.

We have provided  also the use of the circuits for 5 and 6 degree test. The control of the systems comes commanded by a powerful microprocessor, which regulate wáter spray time, the measure of the wáter flow in l/min, and electrical feed to the sample by the connection box in the rotating plate.

PRODUCT BULLETIN: CLL-4500e, Rain Test Chamber for Durability Test of Wiper

Wipers aim to provide the driver visibility conditions minimum through the sweep of the outer surface of the windscreen. To do this they must pass a test of endurance and durability under various controlled conditions. During this test, the sweep rate of the wiper should be editable throughout the trial, sprayed water flow will be controlled and such water must have certain conditions of quality. The water flow must be symmetrically distributed on the windshield as well as having a certain temperature. The entire process should be evaluated for a number of cycles in accordance with the rules established.

The CLL-4500e chamber has been designed to introduce the complete windscreen inside of the chamber, so that the test would be the most faithful to the reality. The chamber presents a double wing door with total access to the workspace so that the introduction of the samples is convenient. The vision system of the rain test chamber allows an analysis of the behaviour of the wipers and the water.

MIL-STD-810 Method 506.4, RAIN TESTRAIN TEST CHAMBER

The Rain tightness tests are performed to different components to evaluate the IP degree of protection, in the Rain test Chambers.

MIL-STD-810 test method in its method 506.4, to evaluate any element to be exposed to rain, spraying or dripping water during storage or transport operation.
Its goal is to determine:

-      The effectiveness of covers, housings and seals to prevent water penetration into the material
-       The ability of the material to satisfy the requirements before and after exposure to water
-       Determine whether there is any physical deterioration of the material caused by rain
-       The effectiveness of any system of water extraction 
-       The effectiveness of protection offered by the material.
