The airbag explosion tests can be carried out both inside the thermal test chamber and outside it by means of a sample extraction system, so that the explosion is carried out quickly. Both methods are accepted, but some vehicle manufacturers prefer the explosion system inside to minimize the loss of conditioning of the sample.

The test will consist of carrying out the explosions of the airbags in 3 different temperatures, after having reached stable temperature conditions for a while. These explosions will be filmed using a high-speed camera, in order to carry out a passenger safety study.

The thermal test chamber, CETM-40/8502m, is a chamber designed to perform airbag explosion tests inside the chamber itself, so that the climatic conditions with the door openings are not lost. Its large windows around the camera allow filming the explosions effectively and at different angles, making a complete study.

The current environmental testing, increasingly have become more demanding in the gradients of temperature that will be submitted the piece. One of the most commonly used tests is currently the trial of accelerated stress or Stress Screening (ESS), during which the part to be tested is subjected to high gradients of cooling or warming. These gradients will submit the samples to high degrees of stress, so that you can check if there is any type of defect in them thus ensuring the quality of the piece and thus avoiding returns during the warranty period.

Wipers aim to provide the driver visibility conditions minimum through the sweep of the outer surface of the windscreen. To do this they must pass a test of endurance and durability under various controlled conditions. During this test, the sweep rate of the wiper should be editable throughout the trial, sprayed water flow will be controlled and such water must have certain conditions of quality. The water flow must be symmetrically distributed on the windshield as well as having a certain temperature. European regulation, F-Gas, relative to the coolant fluids, has established that, from the 2020, refrigerant gases with a GWP (Global warming potential) higher than 2500 will not be used more, affecting to the gas R 404 A. This gas has been used by thermal and climatic equipment manufacturers, and must be replaced by other gas with a GWP of less than 2500.
